Notting Hill Carnival…. If you live in or around London, you’d be mad to miss it. If you were there on the bank holiday then you might have caught this guy live. Drop the Lime hails from the Trouble and Bass crew in NY. With a seriously eclectic taste, from Sonic Youth to 50s doo wop, he spent an hour playing a mash up of Swing, rockabilly, and soul mixed in with bass thomping electro. So so good.
Ive been really diggin Flore’s stuff recently, so I thought it was worth a mention that her album is out now. Released on the Botchit & Scarper label, it features collaborations with heavy hitters like Rodney P, Shunda K, and Joyce Muniz to name just a few.
The track below, Feel Me, has to be my favourite off the album. Ive embedded it below along with the promo mix for the album..
You can stream the full album from the player below and If you want to buy it you can click through the player below and get it from the official Bandcamp page.

Nice new mix from London based Dj Manley… plenty of big basslines, a nod to the rave classics, some tasty re-rubs courtesy of bass kleph, and that bouncy, evil, crack house sound being pushed by Zinc and Boy 8 Bit.
If you like what you hear you can check out some more mixes over at his mixcloud page .
New release from the Burnley based electro label Venga digital…..Kyle Watson – Speaker Juice EP. As usual, Venga have put together another banging collection of fidget/electro house tracks. Check out the tunes below for a taste of what to expect on the EP;
A little while back Wiley put up a load of his music for free download – the collection of over 200 tracks being dubbed ‘The Zip Files’ (if your interested they can still be found over at Grime Forum).
The story goes that there was some agro between Wiley and his label and giving all his music away for free was a bit of a f*ck you to the label. Brighton’s Robert Luis, a producer and A&R manager was one of of the interneters who picked up Wiley’s tracks and did a nice re-edit of the tune Enery Bubbling.
